Some nerve to fly flag upside down on car

While driving through the Kmart Shopping Center in Mount Pocono, my family and I saw a car with a large American flag turned upside down.

To me the display is a total lack of respect for America and everything America stands for. I consider myself a proud American and I pray for those who are fighting for our freedoms we enjoy here. I can't understand why anyone would want to turn the flag upside down. I agree with freedom of speech but this is carrying it way too far.
